Fred Smith Plumbing affiliate, Culligan of New York City, Introduces New Aqua-Cleer® Bottle-less Coolers For Quality Water, Convenience and Savings at the Office

Fred Smith Plumbing’s affiliate, Culligan of New York City – a NYC leader in water treatment solutions for more than 20 years -, just introduced its new line of Aqua-Cleer Point of Use (POU) bottle-less coolers for commercial businesses and residential homes. Bottle-less coolers are perfect for small, high traffic areas such as hotels, offices, lobbies and gyms where space is limited. Because the water comes directly from the building’s existing water source and is automatically filtered for drinking, there’s no more heavy lifting, delivering or storage of five gallon bottles. And because bottle-less coolers don’t use water bottles, they offer businesses an unlimited supply of high quality drinking water on demand.

“Our customers have told us that they are always looking to incorporate greener business practices and to save money, especially in today’s current economy. Culligan’s bottle-less coolers help address both issues. Some of our customers claim they’ve not only reduced plastic waste – and their carbon footprint –, but have saved between 20 to 70 percent on drinking water expenses annually by switching to a point-of-use system,” says Philip J. Kraus, President of Culligan of New York City.

Bottle-Less But Feature-Rich

Culligan of New York City’s bottle-less coolers use the company’s newest and most advanced Aqua-Cleer filtration system. This next-generation filtration technology features 13 filter options which can be custom-tailored to individual needs. Customers can choose from a simple sediment or carbon filter up to a multi-stage reverse osmosis system. The Aqua-Cleer family also includes specialty cartridges for such contaminants* as arsenic, perchlorate and volatile organics.

Culligan’s Aqua-Cleer bottle-less coolers are available in four models suited to different business sizes and drinking water needs. These include:

CC Ultra: available as a free-standing tower or mini countertop system, this cooler provides state of the art features. With its lighted push buttons, electronic controls, biological growth resistant “bio cote” exterior, UV light and energy-saving hot tank sleep mode, it’s the ideal choice for any business setting.

CC Custom: the large internal storage reservoir makes this free-standing cooler a great option for applications requiring reverse osmosis or nanofiltration. Designed to work with five stages of treatment, this system includes built-in automatic leak detection and shut-off.

CC Plus/Plus UV: this popular, mid-range cooler offers a sleek style for basic water dispensing needs. With hot and cold dispensing ability, a hot water safety lock and a large four liter cold water tank, this workhorse dispenses drinking water with ease.

CC Basic: an economical bottle-less cooler option, this sturdy tower provides hot/cold water, a single Aqua Cleer head for remote mounting and a dual float device shut-off for enhanced safety-making this ideal for smaller business, waiting rooms and reception areas.

Culligan Declares May “Drinking Water Month”; Culligan of New York and Dealers Nationwide are Celebrating Access to Better Drinking Water

Culligan International, a world leader in water treatment, has declared May “Drinking Water Month.” This is the fourth year Culligan has sponsored the month-long initiative, which compliments other government and association-sponsored events like the American Water Works Association’s Drinking Water Week, May 6–12.

“Drinking water helps us maintain energy, improve concentration, moderate body temperature and even ward off the common cold. The benefits of drinking water even show up in your skin. A healthy lifestyle is a water-drinking lifestyle,” said Curt Hilliard, Culligan’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Raising awareness about the importance and role water plays in our lives is what Drinking Water Month is about and we’re delighted Culligan of New York is involved.”

Many health organizations, including the Mayo Clinic, suggest drinking a minimum of eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day to stay hydrated. However, a recent study, “A Clear Perspective of Americans and Their Drinking Water,” by Probe Research Inc., found that, on average, Americans are drinking only 5.5 glasses of water each day. Additionally, 72 percent of respondents admit they should drink more water.

Probe Research also found that survey respondents drink the most water at home. About 39 percent said they drink water straight from the tap, while 38 percent say they drink filtered or treated water. While the water supply in the U.S. and North America is one of the safest in the world, naturally occurring contaminants in well water or additives in municipally treated water can make drinking plain tap water unappealing or even unpleasant.

“Many people don’t realize that filtered water reduces all types of contaminants, including those which occur naturally. Filtered water’s taste and appearance, and thereby the flavor of food and drinks prepared with that water, are enhanced,” noted Hilliard. “For over 75 years, Culligan’s filtered water solutions have been helping people make their local water the best it can be.”

As part of the May “Drinking Water Month” initiative, Culligan of New York is featuring a special on the Culligan Aqua-Cleer® Advanced Drinking Water Filtration System. Aqua-Cleer is Culligan’s most advanced water filtration system for the home. It applies five stages of water filtration and is completely customizable to meet a consumer’s specific water filtration needs. The five stages of Culligan’s water filtration include:

1. A sediment filtration to screen out large particles like sand and dirt
2. Carbon filters to improve water’s taste and odor
3. Reverse osmosis filters to reduce dissolved substances
4. Customizable filtration to specific water needs, including filters for specific drinking water problems such as arsenic, chromium, perchlorates, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
5. A final “taste” filter to ensure that your drinking water tastes clean and fresh

Culligan of New York is offering a 10% discount on an Aqua-Cleer Advanced Drinking Water System in a Bottle –Free® cooler or under the sink system with mention of this press release.*

“Culligan dealers are trusted, local water experts. We want to ensure that people are knowledgeable about the water in their homes and have access to the best quality possible for their family,” Hilliard concluded.
